In the innovation development environment of Chinese Academy of Science (CAS) technology industry, to meet the technology industry development of Shanghai Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics technology, CAS, southern industrial park of Shanghai Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics was established in September 2004 by integrating parts of institute’s technology industry.
Industrial park located in southern development zone of Jiading District (Zhaoxian Road 200), Shanghai, covering 23.7 mu, with the construction area of 6200m2. The park gathered Crystal Material Dept and Solid-State Laser Dept of Shanghai Daheng Optics and Fine Mechanics Ltd, Shanghai Power Equipment For Laser Co., Ltd, Shanghai Leo Laser Equipment Co., Ltd., Shanghai Forward Optoelectronics Co., Ltd. The main products involved in optical crystal material, solid lasers, high-pressure constant current DC powers (electrostatic dust abatement), high-power CO2 lasers, laser processing, laser diode and its components in series.
Southern industrial park building marked a new development starting of institute technology industry. Every enterprise will focus on the future development from new starting point and new level, face up to the current increasingly fierce market competition, and make a greater contribution to our institute development.
 
 

 

   
 

Following Shanghai Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics (SIOM) first domestic achievement of the chromatic laser inner-engraving in colorless glass, Chromatic Laser Inner-engraving Dept is established by the accessory company, Shanghai Daheng Optics and Fine Mechanics Ltd. Recently, research and development work of the Dept has made breakthrough progress, successively developed red, orange, yellow, blue, purple and other color series, and achieved scale production, products have begun to put on the domestic and international markets.

On the basis of innovative research results from laser interaction with the material, chromatic laser inner-engraving technology are made use of nonlinear mixed interaction of laser, glass substrate and doping ion, and achieved 3D chromatic inner-engraving in a transparent glass creatively. Since it has greatly improved the laser inner-engraving products appreciation value, compared with that of the existing colorless inner-engraving, which simply relying on the light scattering of laser–induced crack points,generated considerable repercussions at home and abroad, including Israel, the United States, Canada, Japan and other countries companies raising cooperation intentions. In September 2005 on the International Optical Fair held in Changchun, chromatic laser inner-engraving products caused customers and visitors’ great interest.

The project is one of the SIOM results of the second phase of Chinese Academy of Science (CAS) innovative basic research work, owning 3 authorized patents, and a number of patents under applying. Now the researchers are working for the products of mass production day and night, striving to occupy the international market for high-end glass inner-engraving crafts in the short term, and are taking an active part in the promotional activities of the Olympic Games in Beijing and Shanghai Expo.
